Be Stylish With Chef’s Uniforms

Whenever we think of chef’s uniform, a white double breasted coat comes in mind. The uniform of chefs needs no explanation for identification as it has formed a stagnant image that anyone can put in plain words. So, should we consider that chefs have no choice and that they cannot escape from their same old fashioned, dull and unappealing outfit which is known as “chef’s uniform”? Of course not.
Today, the garment fashion is intervening into every profession, providing an assortment of fashionable outfits for every professional, be it executive employee, computer professional or even a chef! Let’s take color of the uniform first. Milky white color of the uniform is the worst offender when it comes to its maintenance. Although, it can be bleached and washed with an effective detergent, but that makes additional expenses for dry cleaning or simple cleaning to remove the stains. Due to its vulnerability to the stains chefs cannot wear them for more than once.
Moreover, it is also not possible for them to be attentive all the time to prevent stains.
It is not necessarily required that you have to stick to white color, just because it is a symbol of cook’s cloth. There are choices for off-white, grey or navy blue in coats. Many even prefer cherry color to make the food stains unnoticeable. Similarly, there are choices for trousers, like checkered style or simply black and white strips. When styles for chefs uniforms are designed, the comfort and ease is given top priority, because there is no point of wearing a uniform that restrict you perform your tasks.

Unveil The Enigma of White Chefs’ Uniform

White uniform is a trade mark of chef and their profession. We all see chefs wearing this traditional piece of clothing, but very few of us know about the truth hidden behind its unique design. Each of its features holds a cause for its existence, for instance, its white color.
Kitchen being a hot place, the heavy white chefs uniforms fit the role as they insulate the cook from the extreme heat of ovens and stoves, still keep it enough airy to pass away the heat. White reflects heat and hence it also helps to keep the kitchen temperature low. In kitchen even a single degree makes the difference. Being the most reflective color, white also proves to be beneficial when it is laundry time. Unlike darker color, white cotton can be bleached and can be unstained regardless of how badly the jacket is blotted.
Similarly, its long sleeves help to protect hands from burns while working close to burners and flames. Thickness of chefs’ uniform is an added advantage as they guard cook by absorbing spilled hot oil and not letting it reach the skin.
Chefs’ uniforms are extraordinary as they are fitted with knotted buttons. But, this is not the real cause for chef’s uniform being extraordinary. Knotted buttons help to slip off the jacket more easily when hot oil spills or get burn. In addition to that chefs’ jacket is double breasted, which is not a fashion statement but to open and lap the front edge over the other if the jacket get stained. Chefs’ jacket may seem an ordinary uniform, but are not actually.

How Storage Items Can Organise Your Kitchen

If your kitchen is looking overly cluttered and messy, you may find yourself looking for ways to easily organize your cupboards and pantries so that items look neat and tidy and are still easily accessible. Storage items are just the way to do this.

Transfer foodstuffs that come in packets to sealed storage items, such as glass jars and plastic containers (remember to label them). Not only do these look much neater and are easier to store, they also help the food to last longer. Using storage items to seal food away is also a great bug deterrent.

Add extra shelving to your cupboards to create additional levels. This allows for storage in the very front to right in the back of any given shelf. The visibility of these items is also improved as they are raised in tiers, starting from the smallest to the largest.

Shelved trolleys can also be used for the storage of items you frequently use in your kitchen and may need easy access to. These trolleys can be located outside of the pantry or cupboard and stacked with items that are sealed in storage containers. A trolley is also handy in a busy kitchen as it can be loaded with items needed for a particular dish to save multiple trips to storage pantries and fridges, and it also enables bench tops to be kept clear of mess.

Products that are purchased in bulk, such as flour, sugar and even vegetables, can be placed in large storage bins to help them keep longer. For these kinds of storage items, it is important to ensure each bin has its own scoop and a lid or cover to prevent contamination and bugs from getting into the food.

With the introduction of just a few quick and simple storage items to your kitchen, you will immediately notice a difference in the amount of mess and clutter that is created.

How Bad Crockery Sets Affect Your Customers

When owning a restaurant, café or hotel it is important to make sure that your crockery sets reflect the quality and standards of your establishment. While you may not think that providing a bad set of crockery has much of an impact, it really does affect your customers and their impression of you.

Supplying your customers with dirty crockery sets will make them immediately wonder how clean the areas of your establishment that they can’t see are. Most people can live with finding a tiny crack in their dinner plate, but finding a dried on chunk of yesterday’s pasta is very off-putting. The improper cleaning of crockery can also lead to the contamination of the fresh food being served in the set which can, in turn, lead to food poisoning.

Putting out crockery sets that are mismatched or damaged also sends a similarly unpleasant message to your customers. While this bad crockery poses no health risks to the public, such a set can still create a very poor impression of your establishment. Mismatched and damaged crockery suggest that you do not care about appearance. This is especially prevalent in restaurants and hotels that are said to be star-rated or are expensively priced. Providing a set of crockery that matches and is undamaged is a small price to pay for upholding standards.

Overall, if customers are not happy with the quality of the crockery set you have provided (whether the set is dirty, mismatched, or damaged), they will begin to look for faults with the rest of their dining experience, especially with the food itself and the service. And if the customer is not happy, you can be sure that they will not return. So while using crockery sets that are dirty, mismatched or damaged may not seem like a big deal, it can have a huge affect on your customers and your business.
